Bringing a fresh beat to a dance community
The Philippine Dance Instructors League (PDIL) is a community built to professionalize dance education in the Philippines. They’ve been around for years, passionate, talented, and growing. But their brand and digital experience needed a fresh energy, something that feels as dynamic and inspiring as the instructors they support. This project was all about helping PDIL step confidently into the modern world, starting with a rebrand, a mobile booking app, and a website.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a brand and system that felt professional yet approachable, structured yet dynamic, and powerful enough to support their vision for the future.
PDIL already had a strong foundation within the dance community, but their brand identity and digital experience didn’t reflect the energy, professionalism, and growth they were aiming for.
They needed a fresh, modern look that could still honor their legacy, while also making it easier for clients to find and book instructors confidently. Beyond just looking updated, the digital platforms had to feel intuitive and inspiring, welcoming new students, supporting instructors, and strengthening PDIL’s presence both online and offline.
My Approach
I started by refreshing the PDIL brand identity, creating a logo that captured movement and connection, and introducing a vibrant gradient color palette to represent passion, diversity, and rhythm. I made sure the brand voice stayed professional but remained warm and relatable, reflecting the heart of the dance community.
For the mobile app, I focused on making the user experience as easy and welcoming as possible. I designed clear flows where users could browse certified instructors by style, view detailed but digestible profiles, and book sessions in just a few taps. To keep things motivating, I also added a simple achievements system, so clients could celebrate their milestones along the way.
On the website side, I kept the experience mobile-first, clean, and action-driven, giving both students and instructors clear pathways to either book an instructor, learn more about PDIL, or join the organization. The overall goal was to build a full digital experience that felt structured, vibrant, and deeply connected to PDIL’s mission of uplifting dance education in the Philippines.
